(man for as excited as I was about blogging, I sure don't post very often....hoping to change that!) Alan and I have decided to try using our new direction of not having kids right away to travel! Even if it's traveling to Portland or the coast, getting out of Corvallis every once in a while will be nice :) Corvallis is starting to grow on us both now that we have a bit of permanency here. Not saying we wouldn't one day like to move, for now it's good here. More good news-Alan is starting graduate school in January which is crazy, but exciting! He is so excited to be furthering his degree and I'm very proud of him for taking this step. More exciting changes in our life!
Gearing up for Christmas and all that 2012 has to offer us :D
Until next time...!

**update**
We have always been firm believers that when it is our time to become parents, God will provide us with a child. After feeling called to begin "not taking preventative measures" over a year ago-we did not get pregnant for 13 months. Not feeling down or averted, we continued to feel it hasn't been our timing. It has however been a lot of "what-ifs" and wondering "is this the month?" whether you are consciously trying or not :) We now feel called to zero in on our marriage and just be us for the time being. It has left us both feeling at peace that we finally get to be out of school, on a regular routine and focusing on having fun as a couple! We are most excited just to say "we should do this" and actually go do it! I know it may sound silly, but until now we have been held back by finances as well as our commitment to school-whereas Alan will still have his full time job, we will have the weekends off together as well as vacation time once he has accumulated some time. We are so excited to do some traveling and get even more connected to each other-doing just whatever! We still are looking forward to being parents one day and hopefully not to far out ;) but we are also loving living for now and not living for the day we have a baby...if that makes sense :) I think we always thought since we were married young we'd have kids soon after. Now that we know more of what our life looks like out of college, it is easier to see (don't ask me how) the opportunities we have available to us, no matter what they are. EEK-exciting! It will be a blessing and even more exciting I'm sure when the day comes that we announce we are pregnant, but for now it is exciting that we have each other! *cheesy!*
Until next time!!! (hopefully not two months from now!)

Married TWO years-crazy!
It has been three days since we celebrated our two year wedding anniversary and for our celebration this year we went to the beach! It was a great, relaxing getaway where we were able to just be together w/o any time constraints or worries about things that typically fill our days (such as work!). We talked about making the beach our annual getaway, whether it's the Oregon Coast or another state, I think we'd like to keep the trend going. There's something about being at the beach that is peaceful (which I'm sure many already know) and carefree-what could be better to celebrate our love together? One of my favorite parts of our vacation & I think Alan would agree-shell hunting at dusk while the tide was out. We were almost the only ones on the beach, the sun was setting and we found some really cool shells. A sand dollar for each of us AND my first time seeing a live crab on the beach! It was nice to do something so simple and have so much fun doing it. (I should have taken a picture of that crazy crab!) Happy, happy anniversary!
We are officially blogging!
We thought it would be fun to start a blog about our life as a married couple and the things we do! It may not be interesting to everyone who reads, but in the past I (erica) have gotten enjoyment out of reading other people's blogs to see what they're up to and what they do in their day-to-day lives. I don't think we'll blog everyday because lets be honest, we don't do THAT much :) But as often as we can or have something to say we will jump on. Also trying to make this something we can do together (however I am the only one home right now) as a new activity to accomplish/compile together. I hope it takes off-I'm already excited and I have only written a few sentences. Here we go!
